Mike Westby, PhD
Mike has over 25 years’ experience in Pharma R&D, having worked for both Roche and Pfizer before cofounding three UK Biotechs. Mike has worked across the Research and Development spectrum and whilst at Pfizer he helped successfully develop a novel therapy for treatment of HIV infection. In the Biotech space, he has raised more than £50m dilutive and non-dilutive capital, and has led successful research teams in the anti-infectives and immune-oncology therapy areas. Mike has co-authored over 50 peer reviewed publications and is co-inventor on a number of patents.
Mike trained in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at University of Durham, obtained his PhD at Warwick University and then completed a postdoctoral research fellow at St George’s Hospital Medical School.
